5 Things I Regret & Advice I Would Give To My Younger Self

Here are 5 things I regret doing in high school/ and advice I would give to my younger self. Hopefully, these can help you avoid the same mistakes that I made and live a more fulfilling life!

1. Just because you didn’t like something before doesn’t mean you won’t like it now. Be open-minded.

This applies to almost everything. Movies, Foods, Drinks, etc… I use to hate peanut butter but now I eat it all the time!

2. Make opinions for yourself don’t just trust what others/ the media says

I feel like this should be common sense but I feel like when we are younger we tend to just go with the flow on some things that we really shouldn’t. With anything, we should do our own research and look at both sides and then create our own opinion.

3. You don’t find yourself. You create yourself so start becoming who you want to be.

I feel like so many people spend years trying to “find themselves” getting themselves into bad situations and lots of regrets and ending up not living up to their potential. So stop trying to find yourself and start thinking about who you want to become. Then start becoming that person.

4. Cherish your family because they love and care about you and will be there forever.

Friends come and go but family is forever. Your family loves you more than you can imagine and they care about you so much. You should make them a priority and actually listen to their advice and cherish having them around and really get to know them. Listen to their music and don’t be an angsty teenager and actually be their friends.

5. Admit When You’re Wrong. Being prideful and stubborn gets you nowhere.

All that being prideful and stubborn does is get you nowhere. Be an adult and take responsibility, you will grow so much more and be a much better person to be around. Also the more you do it, the more respect others will give you, and the more they will do it to others and make this world a better place.

We all have regrets, but I hope these help you avoid some of mine. I hope these help you live a more fulfilling life and reach your full potential.
